I went to the OB today for my 39 week appointment and she had some great news - Ellie will be here soon! I am 4 cm dilated and ready to go, so Dr B will induce me at 5:00 on Monday morning unless Ellie makes her debut before then. I'm hoping Ellie Kate decides to come this weekend as an early Mother's Day present. Wouldn't that be so sweet of her? :)
Luc and I will keep everyone updated through texts and emails, so be on the lookout for some good news within the next few days!

Ellie Update
No, she's not here yet. YET. I say that with a large emphasis on YET because I'm very ready for Elizabeth Kate to make her debut!
I'm just past 38 weeks which means that she's fully grown and ready to be loved on. That also means I'm sliding into the miserable stage where everything hurts and I'm walking with a waddle. I'm also sporting a pretty cool "Chinese fighting glove" for my carpal tunnel and a red nose from an upper respiratory infection that is making 38 weeks even less fun. My doctor was kind enough to prescribe me some awesome cough syrup that helps me sleep! That stuff is pretty amazing. I can see why the pharmacy makes you sign a couple of forms to have access to it. Aside from the nasty cold diagnosis, my 38 week appointment went well. I'm starting to dilate but Dr B doesn't want me to progress any further until my cold is gone. I've got one more day on the Z-pack and then I should be good to hold a new baby! I'm contracting regularly and just waiting for them to get more frequent and intense. I'm starting to get nervous when I go shopping...my biggest fear is my water breaking in public!
I've gotten 99% of my To Do list done. YEAH! I think the only thing left is to mop the floors and straighten up the Game Room. I'll be ok if the Game Room is a mess, but I can't bring a newborn home to dirty floors. She'll remember that and want therapy for it later in life. :) Ellie's room is all hers now that Caroline has transitioned to her new room upstairs. I'm hoping that Ellie can sense that I'm ready for her and will come very, very soon.
Here's a not-so-good picture from Wednesday, 38 weeks:
I've packed away most of my maternity clothes in hopes that Ellie gets the hint. I apologize in advance if you see me wear the same outfit in the next couple of days. I'm rotating the 4 shirts that fit with the same number of shorts that look decent. I also apologize if you see my calves/ankles/feet. They've merged. It's obscene.
I hope my next post includes pictures of Miss Ellie Kate! Keep us in your prayers until then!

Caroline Turns Two!
Caroline is TWO! If you ask her how old she is, she proudly holds up her pointer fingers and says "Twooooooo!". She is very excited about her age and everything that comes with it. Her added year has added joy and amusement to our lives as well. She cracks us up on a daily basis with her choice of words and actions - from her sudden fear of bugs to her use of the phrase "It's so cold," even when it's 90 degrees outside. I think she uses it as an excuse to accessorize with a scarf!
Here are some 2 year old highlights:
Caroline had a great check up with Dr. S. She is 97% for height and head circumference and 91% for weight. She's back on the charts, folks! Dr. S cracked up when she plotted her weight because this is the first time in 2 years that Caroline has been on the charts for weight. Her little baby belly and fat baby thighs are disappearing. :(
She is sleeping in her big girl bed, in her big girl room! We bought Caroline a toddler bed a couple of months ago and she is finally sleeping it in for both naps and nighttime. She cracks me up - she won't get out of it until I go get her. She was the same way about her crib - never once did she try to crawl out. I guess the girl knows that sleep is a good thing! Her little girl room is just precious - pink and ballerina - just like a little girl's room should be.
Caroline has taken an active role in her daily attire selection. She has an opinion about everything she puts on so I usually give her the choice between 2 items. It works so far, but I fear that she will catch on to my trick in the years to come.
She is a total klutz! Her knees stay scraped and bruised, and mostly covered with Dora Band-Aids. She can count her boo-boos and tell you how many "Dorbandais" she needs. There's usually an added Band-Aid, just for kicks. She can unwrap them and place them on her legs, which is more than her MayMay can do!
She is sort of obsessed with a lighter on Luc's shelf. Daddy fail.
Caroline exclaims "Woohoo!" when she's excited about something, which makes me love her little sense of appreciation.
She has a very real sense of friends and misses them when she hasn't see them in a while. Although she is 6 months younger than most of her buddies, that age difference is slowly becoming less noticeable.
Here are some pictures from her Dora party at the Little Gym and other happenings from our crazy world...

This is what happens when Caroline is on a combo of steroids, breathing treatments and her inhaler. And people wonder why I can't get anything done...

Fishy Faces
Luc's company hosted a wonderful family day at the downtown Aquarium this past weekend. We had a great time exploring as a family of three! Although my body wasn't up for the adventure, I was glad went because I know our days of being a trio are numbered. Caroline had a great time on the Shark Adventure train and Luc had a great time lugging her around (haha).
Fishy faces!
It cracks me up that with most things in life, she's fearless...but not on a Merry Go Round. She refuses to ride on the animals.
Waiting for the Shark Train!
Still waiting on the Shark Train. The wind picked up and carried with it some nasty odors. Someone around us had not discovered deodorant yet.
The no deodorant culprits.
Sharks!

This shark pops out at the end of the train ride!

Photo op with a bird. I love how to bird handler is posing for pictures.
The Aquarium had a white tiger. Very cool! Someone on the other side of the glass was making him a little angry.
