Five months and full of smiles!

I apologize in advance for the massive amount of pictures on this post. I just couldn't stop myself. Ellie is the happiest baby and loves to smile for her mama!

I'll post more about her benchmarks later, but for now I'm unloading a bunch of cuteness!

Ellie loves her new baby doll from her MayMay!

That's her big smile! I love it!

Sweet faced baby. Love her.

She LOVES her thumb.

She decided to put her baby in a leg lock.

I can't believe she's about to be 6 months old!!!

On a more serious note - I'm about to make this blog private, meaning you'll have to sign in with an email address to view it. I've been looking at the stats and it looks like there are a bunch of foreigners enjoying the blog...which kind of creeps me out.  Apparently we're huge in Russia. If you'd like to keep up with the Smiths, please send me your email address (either to MrsKateSmith@gmail.com or through FB) and I'll add you to the list.  Thanks for understanding!

Bye Bye, Baby Mullet!

Caroline played hooky from school yesterday (because she slept until 10:00!) so I took advantage of the time together and booked an appointment for her first haircut. I brought her to a place in Kingwood (Shears N Action) that is known for being excellent with kids. They were! The stylist, Mary Kay, was so patient and kind. Caroline was excited to begin with and Mary Kay's personality made C even more happy to get her first haircut. I wish I would have taken a before picture! Here are some during and after pictures:

First snips! So long baby mullet! She's cutting the only original hair Caroline had.

All done! Mary Kay even styled it with two ribbons. So cute!

They asked when I'd bring in Ellie for her first haircut. I laughed and told them maybe when she's 8. And then I laughed again. Poor bald baby...

Ellie's Baptism

We baptized Ellie on Sunday morning at our church, St. Mary's.  It was a beautiful ceremony and could not have gone better!  Ellie was on her best behavior and looked angelic in her gown.  It was the same gown that Caroline wore, which happens to be the christening gown my grandmother made while pregnant with my mom.  Ellie is the third generation to wear it.  It was pretty funny to see Ellie in it because it was altered (enlarged, if you will) for Caroline therefore it was hanging off of Ellie.  Nonetheless, she looked beautiful.  It even matched her skin color...haha!

Here are some pictures from Ellie's big day:
